Our Story

My name is Sylvia Kamanda, and beyond being the founder of this space, I’m first and foremost a mother; to two wonderful boys, one of whom is autistic and inspires me every single day. Alongside my husband, who walks this journey with me, we’ve shared the joys, worries, and discoveries that come with raising a neurodivergent child.

Like so many parents, I’ve faced the frustration of wanting to support my child’s growth, development, and happiness — only to find that most of the tools, toys, and sensory aids we needed simply weren’t available locally. I often had to import them from abroad, wait weeks (sometimes months), and pay huge shipping fees. Along the way, I kept hearing the same question from other parents:

“Where did you get that?”

NeuroPlay Kenya was born from that shared need, love, and determination.
It’s more than a business; it’s my heartfelt mission to make learning through play accessible and affordable for every neurodivergent child in Kenya. To show parents and caregivers that there are alternatives to screen time. Simple, powerful tools that can spark joy, curiosity, and growth.

Every product we choose is guided by what I’ve personally seen help my child  and by what I know so many families are looking for but can’t easily find here at home.

And if you don’t see what you’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you! Please get in touch and let us know, we’ll do our best to help source it or guide you in the right direction.

My hope is that NeuroPlay becomes your trusted, local partner: a place where you can find what you need, ask questions, share experiences, and feel seen and supported.

Thank you for joining us on this journey.
Together, let’s help every child play, learn, and thrive.

With love,
Mama Omi
